'Scrooge' steals Little City donations To the editor: I am writing to the person or persons who stole the donation bags that were dropped off at the front door of the Little City Resale Shop on Algonquin Road in Palatine Dec. 4. The Little City Resale Shop accepts donations and sells them to help supplement their organization.
One of my contributions was a lovely 2-foot moving statue of Bob Cratchet and Tiny Tim (with crutch) from the Dickens story, "A Christmas Carol." My family had enjoyed it for years, but it was in excellent condition and fully working. All the items I donated were double-bagged and tied securely. On a visit to the resale shop this past week, I was told by a volunteer that they never received that statue, or any of the other donations I left at their door. In fact, she told me many donated items disappear before they have had a chance to be resold in the shop. What kind of "Scrooge" would steal the donation bags from Little City? I hope anyone that sees this statue displayed in your home or business will know that you are a real creep, and that the real Ebeneezer Scrooge is alive and well in the Northwest suburbs.
